Having left Oaklandia,* the ghost squirrel nation, Kit sails off in search of a place where he will feel more at home. On his travels he meets Alan de Long, an aardwolf troubadour, and the two of them travel together to the coastal city of Nehalia, where they come upon the last of the ghost dragons.

*NOTE: Oaklandia was created on an island along the coastline of Maine, long after men were gone from this world. This tale (as well as those of Oaklandia itself) found its way to that storage unit trunk due to the abilities of certain ghost squirrels to travel through time via the Quantum.
